Micro Thong Swimsuits

A couple of notches more daring than the average thong are micro thong swimsuits.  Composed of a bikini top (usually string style) and a thong for the bottom, this type of swimwear is simply one of the best beach outfits if you want to bathe yourself under the sun and get some natural summer tan.

The top

A two-piece’s top and bottom provide double the dare for a woman to reveal her physical beauty.  With a tiny top made of two small pieces of fabric held in place by thin straps or strings, this swimwear is designed to expose most of the breast while leaving some areas strategically hidden for a little tease.  Some styles for these kind of bathing suits are bandeaus or tubes, while others are halter tops.

The bottom

The bottom for this type of beachwear is made of small pieces of fabric used to cover the crotch area while leaving most or the entire butt area exposed.  The rear part is usually a small piece of fabric or a thin strap to cover the butt crack or very thin string resting between the butt cheeks.  T-back, g-string, c-string, and v-string bottoms are among the most popular varieties.

Short history

Micro thong bikinis evolved from Rudi Gernreich’s design which was first used in the 1970s.  A fashion designer known for his daring swimsuit designs such as the monokini (or topless two-piece) and the pubikini (a type whose bottom has a window to expose the pubic hair), Gernreich developed the thong style when his topless piece, the monokini, began to decline in consumer appeal.  After experimenting on topless creations, he thought of starting out with a new variety: the bottomless two-piece.

It is believed that the inspiration from thong style bikinis was from the costumes of Amazonian tribes in Brazil, as well as other indigenous tribes in tropical areas of Australia, South America, and Australia, among others.

Tips and reminders

This is a type of bikini that takes a lot of confidence to wear.  It usually works best with slender bodies because of its small nature.  Going through wax treatment is important before wearing it because unsightly hair can obstruct your overall look in that swimming outfit.  This swimwear is ideal for tanning, though you might have to consider getting athletic varieties if you intend to do more swimming than sunbathing. A sexy number that offers enough bust support is perfect for you if you plan to play sports at the beach or by the pool.
